Focido 1.5.4

Meet Focido v. 1.5.4. A Smoother Flow, Fewer Friction Points, More Delight

We shipped Focido 1.5.4 with small but meaningful polish across navigation, visuals, and the motivator experience to help you move from idea to done with less thinking and more doing.

What’s new and why it matters

  • Redesigned bottom navigation with a floating tab bar and quick + button to create tasks — The new floating bar makes the main controls easier to reach and the + shortcut gets you into task creation instantly, reducing friction for capturing momentum.
  • New custom tab icons — Fresh, clearer icons help you scan the app faster and find the views you need without hunting.
  • Updated Motivator Queue and “Motivated by” cards — We reorganized the queue and refreshed the cards so finding and recognizing who’s motivating you feels more immediate and human.
  • Motivator avatars now fall back to initials when no photo is set — No more blank faces: initials keep profiles readable and friendly even before someone uploads a photo.
  • Removed the redundant search button from the feed — filters cover everything now, so we simplified the toolbar to reduce noise and decision fatigue.
  • Cleaner empty state on the Done tab — the Done view now celebrates completion more clearly and stays calm when there’s nothing to show.

Short example: Faster capture → better follow-through
Tap the floating +, type a quick task, choose to make it public, and assign a motivator — in 3 quick steps you’re set. The UI changes remove little hesitations that add up to fewer dropped tasks.

Design notes for early adopters

  • You’ll notice more breathing room around the floating bar and icons; that spacing improves reachability and reduces accidental taps.
  • The Motivator Queue adjustments prioritize active, available people first so matches happen faster.

Tiny fixes and polish

  • Avatar initials fallback, feed search removal, and the Done-tab empty state are all small UX wins that make the app feel cleaner and more reliable.
