Focido is a social to-do app where your goals live in a feed, and real people keep you accountable with small nudges that help you finally follow through.
We’ve been shipping fast, learning fast, and listening closely. And we’ve hit a very specific moment in the life of a product: when “it works” is no longer enough.
Because in a social accountability app, the difference between “I’ll try it” and “I’ll keep using it” is often made of tiny things:
- How an interaction responds when you hesitate
- How a nudge lands, visually and emotionally
- How progress feels when you’re tired, behind, or proud
- How the UI quietly says “you’re not alone” without being cheesy
That layer is design. And a big part of it is motion.
Why motion matters (especially for accountability)
Most productivity apps feel like spreadsheets with buttons. That’s fine for planning. But accountability is emotional. People avoid tasks because of friction, fear, and fatigue.
Motion and micro-interactions can do real work here:
- Reduce confusion (clear feedback for actions)
- Reduce anxiety (calm transitions, predictable states)
- Make support feel human (warm, subtle cues)
- Make progress tangible (without turning everything into a game)
Not loud animations. Not confetti everywhere. Just careful, intentional movement that helps you keep going.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a cofounder who:
- Has strong product design instincts (UX clarity, hierarchy, systems thinking)
- Enjoys motion/animation (micro-interactions, transitions, states, feedback)
- Likes shipping, iterating, and refining
- Wants to build long-term, not just “do a task”
If you’ve ever watched a product feel “alive” because of great motion design and thought “I want to build that”, we should talk.
What you’d work on
A few examples of what’s on our mind:
- The motion language of “support”: nudges, replies, acknowledgements
- Feedback states: success, failure, waiting, retrying, uncertainty
- Micro-interactions that make navigation effortless
- Subtle progress moments that motivate, not distract
